If you have read my post on Types of Pants, you will know that, according to Britannica while there were some women who championed pants in the 19th century, pants as an acceptable everyday clothing option for women didn’t truly catch on until the mid-20th century.
Like me, if clothing history interests you, then read about how Levis Strauss & Co plays an instrumental role in creating denim pants for women. According to an article on Fashionista “In 1918, as the war was coming to an end, Levi’s introduced a line of women’s garments called “Freedom-Alls”, which were one-piece garments that consisted of cotton tunics connected to balloon pants”.
Also, while researching on the history, I read this interesting article in “The Telegraph“, which mentioned that Iris Apfel was one of the first women to wear jeans in USA.
