How to Organise Lingerie – Storage & Organisation
When we start organising our wardrobes, we start by thinking about clothes. Clothes take the majority of our space, and its a rule of life that anything that takes more space, takes the importance 😉
Back to our topic for today “How to Organise Lingerie – Storage & Organisation”. Today we will tackle our delicates on how to store and organise.
The 6 steps below, will be a game changer on how you store and organise your delicates aka lingerie 🙂
Step 1 – Layout the lingerie
Layout all your lingerie – Bras, Panties, Shapewear and even the accessories, bra extenders nipple covers, etc. Laying out all, helps us taking a stock of all things we own. Now go through each piece thoroughly
For Bras – check the bands, straps, buttons, wire, fit, style.
For Panties – check the fit, colour, elastic.
For Shapewear – check the fit, colour, elastic.
Not sure how to check, read this to know when is the right time to toss those Bras. Now laying out ensures that every single piece that you will store into the wardrobe works for you.

Step 2: Create categories
YES, you read it right. Far too many people jumble up the Bras & panties/shapewear together. This makes you buy too much and it is not pleasant to look at as well. Everything has a place and this will guarantee that you won’t feel overwhelmed. So categorise in Bra – Panty – Shapewear – Accessories
Step 3: Sort them Colourwise
Next step is to sort your Bras by colour – the way we sort clothes, start with black white grey and move to rainbow colours. Again, you will thank me for the ease once you get used to this system.
Step 4: Mark your space for lingerie
I cannot tell you how important this is. Most women/men store their underwear in drawers but there is no system. They actually dump it there sometimes with other things as well. So have a special space for it. You don’t need a big space but for sure an assigned space.
In some cases, you will have a drawer that you can assign for lingerie or if you don’t have a drawer, we can create an assigned space with foldable organisers, acrylic boxes, various options.
Step 5: BOX IT
Boxing / containing your lingerie will make it so easier for you to access it later on as well.
A – In the case of drawers : Now when you have drawers, buy drawer organisers. You can find drawer organisers in various sizes and fits all drawer sizes. You can buy separate ones, or there is a whole set if you have an Ikea wardrobe.
B – No assigned drawer for underwear : In case you don’t have assigned drawer for your lingerie, or you have a small wardrobe, then the solution is buying foldable boxes. they are wide and not as deep, hence you can add organisers and create your own drawers. You can also use clear acrylic boxes and added drawer organiser to it.
Step 6 : How to store it
This is the last step. You have decluttered, sorted, have the right organisers/boxes now is the time to store it.
Bra – Always stack the bras one after another and not one on another. one after the other, will give you a clear view and it is easy to access. Whether you wear wired / non wired/moulded, stacking bras will retain their shape and the longevity them.
Panty – fold it like a burrito and store them in smaller compartments. if you have less storage space then you can store 2-3 panties in one grid of the organizer.
Shapewear – Non wired shapewear is easy to fold and store. For wired shapewear, follow the line of wire and fold it accordingly to store.
Lingerie Accessories – Have a nice clear box that fits into your space and keep all accessories together.
