10 quick do's & don'ts - for women with a small bust

All my ladies with a smaller bust, fret not. Today’s blog is dedicated to you solely. Here are my 10 quick do’s & don’ts – for women with a small bust

First, let’s start with body type & measurement.

  1. This body variation is most common with small Triangular body shape or Rectangular body shape or Diamond body shape
  2. Traditionally / theoretically women with A/B cup or band size 32 and below fall under the small bust category.

How can you check whether you have a small bust or not?

LINGERIE 101 – PART 1 – MY TOP TIPS ON HOW TO BUY THE RIGHT LINGERIE

  1. You are flat-chested, so there is a lesser upper body curve.
  2. Measure your bust (band & cup), and compare the measurements with your waist & hips. If the bust is the smallest part of that measurements, the chances are you are small busted
  3. It is in comparison with your own body, so like how we measured bust and compared with waist & hips, your height, weight & bone structure also comes to play. For example – someone who is 4’9″ with a 32D bust size might be medium/large chested and someone who is 5’9″ with 32D bust size might be small chested.

Now back to 10 quick tips for women with a small bust :

1. Add Volume

Wear tops that add volume to the bust. So a waterfall ruffle or regular ruffles works very well for this. However, see to it they start from above the bust.

2. Size of prints & patterns

Wear prints that are medium size around the bust area, medium size to large size print adds visual weight and great to create an illusion. patterns like huge pockets around the bust area, slogan tees also work well for small bust women.

3. Well fitted bra

A well-fitted bra makes wonders to the whole fit. If you are comfortable, a padded, push up bra creates wonders.

4. Plunging / creative necklines

Don’t be afraid to wear V necklines, in fact, with small bust, wear plunging necklines without being afraid of some spillage ;-). Invest in interesting necklines, with smaller bust you should experiment with necklines, from super high like a mock turtle to deep-v’s to asymmetrical everything looks good.

5. Sheer styles

Wear a bralette or a bustier with a jacket or wear a them under a fancy sheer top. These styles add that extra oomph and street cred to your outfit.

6. Avoid simple tops

Avoid tops that are simple, no pattern or detailing which might enhance the fact of the small bust.

7. Show some skin

Show some skin ladies, a strapless sundress or singlet tops with print or pattern around the bust is a great investment.

8. Necklace length

The right length of a necklace will add volume to the bust. There is no rule that you cannot wear shorter length necklaces or choker, but a length that balls on the bust fills that gap and adds volumes.

9. Create curves

Create curves with your styling. My biggest tip for someone who wants to show fuller bust is creating a waist curve and show some skin at the neck. Adding a jacket/layer with a fitted top also works wonders in creating faux curves.

10. Backless styles

Since you have a smaller bust, it will be easier to use a nipple sticker or bust stickers and go braless to wear backless style.
